When we hear people say things that sound strange, it is possibly because they are strange. For example, if Sam Altman says they lose money on their USD 200 per month subscription, maybe we shouldn't take it at face value. Maybe we should be skeptical. Is the incremental cost of that one user actually USD 200? USD 200 is a lot of money. If you think purely in terms of electricity, even at USD 0.50, that is 400 kWh of electricity. I sincerely doubt one person can use that much electricity purely for inferencing.
